Post subject: | PVR-350: TV out picture scrolls offscreen |
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone involved for automating the PVR-350 tv out setup. I've been hacking around with MythTV for a long time and never got the PVR-350 setup to work. Now it's a walk in the park! My KnoppMyth installation works great except one thing: the PVR-350 tv out picture scrolls off the edge of my TV screen. Watching shows isn't a problem, the setup screens are hard to read. For options that have check boxes on the left, I can't even see what the current state is. Is there a way to scale the TV out image so that it's smaller? Thanks in advance, Boris |

I'm not sure if it's the same with the output from a PVR-350, but in >setup>general>appearances the second or third page allows you to change the size of the display. x and y offsets and stuff. It works with my mythbox, but I'm outputting using nvidia 5200 over svideo cable. |

Yes, its the same. Basically the TV only displays the centre portion of the picture, its called overscan, I think it (was) done to clean up the edges of the picture. Using the setup options described above you can limit the mythtv UI to a window in the appropriate place on the screen to avoid it getting overscanned. This works fine, my only issue is that the amount of overscan on my TV changes with the light/dark composition of the picture, so I have to compromise on where I position it. |
