Total newbee here so I hope this question is not stupid.

I have installed PVR250 with KM R5D1. I installed the PVR AFTER I installed KM and know I dont know how to get the remote to work.

I went to the wiki for the 250 remote instructions but when I tried to run

install-i686-l

it kept saying that it was not a valid command. maybe I was not supposed to copy the code excatly but with UNIX that is what I try and always do.

Those instructiona are out of date. As root try just running lirc-reconfig.sh and selecting the appropriate choices from the menu (probably 16 and c, but don't do that blindly).
