hi folks,
I've been fiddling with the settings for my new HP-S4253 Plasma connected via DVI - HDMI to my KnoppMyth frontend (FX5200).
In the end, I went to Jarod Wilson's wonderful website (http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/mythhd.php) and pilfered his working xorg.conf file (http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/xorg.conf-HD.txt). I renamed it "XF86Config-4", and put it in /etc/X11.
It worked with only a tiny bit of editing (font paths). So I've edited Jarod's xorg.conf file to suit my own system, and the resulting picture quality, especially HD, is simply outstanding. I think I'm seeing 960 x 540p (according to Jarod's guide).

And here's my problem: somewhere, somehow, the OSD settings are munged so that the font size is too small to read. The Channel Guide font is too small, and the font for the Myth menus is too small. In addition, the fonts for anything in fluxbox are too small (outside of the Myth frontend). I have not been able to track down the cause yet, and it is the only stumble in an otherwise successful DVI - HDMI connection.

I've included my XF86Config-4 file below in the hopes that it may help someone else and maybe someone will help me find the cure.

Code:
