Hi,

Does anyone know where the kernel modules are for a 3Com 3C905c-TXM ethernet card. I have read elsewhere that I need the 3c59x or 3c90x drivers:

http://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/~jdnewmil/lr ... notes.html

Are there any drivers in the latest KnoppMyth release (R5D1) that will allow me to use this card?

Thanks,

Boris

The 3c59x module you mention should work although there is a good chance the support for this NIC is built in the kernel and doesn't require loading a module.

I expected the 3Com NIC to be supported too, however, lspci yields nothing (ie. nada, zip).

modprobe 3c59x fails since I cannot find that module on the CD (although I've found a few other 3cxxx modules); and dmesg shows no NIC found.

Can anyone tell me the best way to find out if that module exists in the file system (Auto-installed) or in the .iso? If it does not is there a way to get it or is there another module that will work?

I installed a LinkSys EtherFast 10/100 LNE 100TX and it was not detected either...The BIOS sees it and I've switched pci slots. The motherboard is a MSI k7t266 Pro2. I think this is a fairly common motherboard. As I said, lspci shows nothing...

I have not tried a windows install with this motherboard but I did try a Fedora install and it too did not recognize the nic. It's possible that the issue was related to a bad motherboard.
