Hello,

I am running KM R5B7, and everything is working great. I have a PVR-USB2 configured with my cable feed into the tuner running without any problems. What I would like to do now is figure out how to run my VCR into the Compoosite input of the PVR-USB2. I currently don't have my audio receiver, so the only thing with audio is my HTPC. So I figured we should be able to watch video tapes if I could get the composite input of the PVR-USB2 working. However, I don't see any "Video Source" option that is not a channel lineup. I tried configuring the composite "Input" to use the same "Video Sourse" as the tuner, but pressing "y" still doesn't change to the composite input.

Is it possible to watch a straight video source through either the composite or s-video inputs on the PVR-USB2? This would also be handy for connecting my video camera, digital camera, and video jukebox to my big screen.

Thanks,

Tim

I have done this with my dishnetwork receiver, before I had an IR blaster. Using mythtv-setup, you need to make a source set to a channel, for example "1", you can call this source something like "vcr, or video-in. Then go into the next menu, and select that source, and select composite or svideo respectively as its input device. Then when you want to watch, or record a tape onto your mythbox, simply enter "1" on your keyboard or remote. The image playback should start as soon as you start the source. Then if you want to record it, hit the "record" button on your remote, or "R" on your keyboard. Keep in mind that this will disable your tuner, on this device, so you will not be able to record or watch TV while watching the tape, unless you have the tuner hooked up on the vcr.

That should do it.

Best of Luck. :D

Thanks so much. That worked perfectly. Wish it were a little more straight forward, but this does the trick.
