Post subject:  Myth to Control Audio Receiver?

Hello,

I am hoping to get my receiver back from repair shortly and was wondering if it is possible to have MythTV IR blast volume command to the receiver. I am currently using an ATI Remote Wonder to control my frontend, and it is working very well. Once I get my receiver back I will be using my optical SPDIF out for all audio, so volume control will need to be done at the receiver. I would really like to not need two remotes (one for volume and one for everything else).

Can this be done? Or does Myth only blast channel controls? What would I need? I'm guessing that I would need some sort of IR blaster device. What recommendations? Does Myth have a way of learning remote commands. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to find the necessary remote codes for my old Aiwa receiver.

Thanks for any info you might have.

the Harmony remotes can do this. while in 'watching tv' mode, I have the channel change button send the settop box channel change signals and the volume buttons send the receiver volume signals
