I got Knoppmyth ocmpletely set up, it went pretty smoothly except that, for the life of me, I can't get any sound. I am using an AMD 939 Motherboard, which has nVidia High Definition audio onboard. lspci reports the following about the audio controller: Code: 0000:00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2)

Hi, Until the resorces that can positively help jump in, I can at least offer some ideas to try. As root: #alsamixer #sometimes things are (m)uted, if it errors then run the following command.... # alsaconf #to see if it can find your card and make it work if you do a find, there are a few wav files on the system that you can use for testing. # find / -name *.wav #should show you some files to listen to. # play <the-full-path-to-the-wav-file> Mike |
