I did some digging on the Hauppauge site an' apparently the 150 is stereo only.

Does the PVR-150 record in just stereo? Basically, i'd like to try setting up a surround sound setup, and I'm not sure if my limitation is my sound card or my tuner card. I'm thinking that with analog cable I'm stuck with just stereo. Am I right? |

I would think it's more to do with what is being broadcast, more than the hardware. I should think you can upmix your sound to 5.1, for example, my my speaker setup upmixes sterio from regular TV to 5.1 for me, but I only get true 5.1 from a 5.1 source e.g. a DVD. |

Basically, the problem is with several new shows having the music so loud that I can't hear the dialogue. So my two solutions are to get CC to work(which I can't seem to do), or get 5.1 sound and turn up the center channel, which is where the dialogue should be. |
