While playing music through MythMusic, my system will freeze after a couple of minutes while a very loud high pitched whine is played.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Card, and have not been able to find any problem like this on the forum

Thanks

Edit: Actually, this just happened while watching TV as well. I would have thought it was my capture card, but the Music problem is making me think it is sound (and while I was playing music, nothing was recording).

I already tried upgrading the ALSA drivers to 1.0.13 (and I am currently running memtest86+ to see if the issue is a faulty stick of memory)

Memtest didnt come up w/ any errors after 9+ hours and 24 checks.

I am stumped. Log files show nothing. I think i will start ripping out hardware 1 by 1 to isolate the problem

Edit: I disabled apic from lilo with no effect (add "noacip" after append=). While that was still disabled, I diabled XvMP (comment out the line in /etc/X11/XvMCConfig).

It seems to work after doing that.

Additionally, I really may be pushing the limits of my power supply.
According to http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine, I need 403 Watts, but my power supply is 330W (it is a dell demension 8100, so upgrading it is almost impossible). I know this is an issue for several reasons, but is this likely to be causing these crashes?
