Post subject:  Dual PCI Riser cards

I am running R5C7 on a Compaq Deskpro EN PIII 1 GHz using a 250Gb SATA HD and a PVR350.

The deskpro only has 3 PCI slots and I currently have all 3 occupied :( (network, SATA controller and 350). But I want to add an additional tuner so a PCI riser card comes to mind (maybe with an additional PCI extender).

My question is: which riser card should I use?

I've run into the VIA PCI Riser Card - Dual Slot (http://linitx.com/product_info.php?products_id=278) and the Tranquil Active Dual riser TPC014 (http://www.tranquilpc-shop.co.uk/acatal ... isers.html). Or is there a better one to choose?

No experience with the riser cards, but another option would be to spend the $40+/- bucks on a PCI SATA/USB 2.0 card to replace the one that's in your box now. Then just pick up a USB tuner and you're good to go. If the company that makes your existing SATA card makes a combo card with the same chipset then you might not even have to reload the box.

My 2 cents...

That's an option allright, but also an expensive one: $40 for a SATA/USB card and for the price of a USB tuner I can buy two PCI tuners.

So I hope someone has experience with riser cards and can give me a clue which one I should buy.
