Most likely shouldnt matter, but I have heard that same brands tend to get slightly better speeds (but i have not confirmed it).
FYI, I got the Linksys WGA54AG and it does not support WPA, so I had to switch everything over to WEP.

Hi, trying to set up r5d1 on an old compaq 1ghz P4 with Nvidia 5200, PVR 250 and 320gb HD. set up went ok but now I am looking for help with wifi options. is a PCI card better or a wireless bridge? I have a d-link DL-624 wireless router so could I stay with D-link with my myth box? What would be the easiest to plug and go? thanks in advance for the help! |

I had an Edimax wireless card that I spent several hours trying to get work unsuccessfully. I ended up going to bestbuy and picking up a 'wireless gaming adaptor' (which a bridge with a different name), and have had NO issues with it. It is much less of a hassle to use a bridge |

Thanks. I assume if one uses a bridge then Lynksys vs D-Link makes no difference? |
