Hi, Trying to network though a D-Link wireless access point to a D-Link DI 624 wireless router but am unable to connect to the internet. When I did the origonal instal I had the ehternet cable connected directly to the router. Now I moved the box into the other room and connected the ehternet cable to the access point. I get no joy  I tried pump -i eht0
but get Operation failed I did not set the access point up as DHCP...do I need to do that? |

From your description, your setup appears to be: Code: --------->Wireless Router>========>Access Point>----->Knoppmyth Box
Key: ---- Wired ==== Wireless Firstly, has the Access Point been set up for bridging mode, ie able to take information over it's wired connections, broadcast over a wireless connection to another AP/Wireless router. If another PC is set up where your Knoppmyth box is, can it connect to the internet? If so, do you have the IP addresses, gateway settings and netmasks of each of the devices? |
