Post subject: | Only getting Channel 5 on Tunner PVR-150 with R5D1 |
I am switching from DirecTV to Cable. I moved from the Video in to the COAX on the PVR-150. I scan for channels and only find channel 5. I tried all three US-CABLE settings, but there is static with audio only on channels other than Channel 5 DMESG gives lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61 ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== ivtv: version 0.7.0 (tagged release) loading ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.17-chw-8 SMP preempt mod_unload 586 gcc-3.4 ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist. ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 card (cx23416 based) ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:03.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 18 ivtv0: Unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32) tuner 1-0061: chip found @ 0xc2 (ivtv i2c driver #0) saa7115 1-0021: saa7115 found @ 0x42 (ivtv i2c driver #0) msp3400 1-0040: MSP3445G-B8 found @ 0x80 (ivtv i2c driver #0) msp3400 1-0040: MSP3445G-B8 supports radio, mode is autodetect and autoselect tveeprom 1-0050: Hauppauge model 32062, rev B185, serial# 7477777 tveeprom 1-0050: tuner model is TCL 2002N 6A (idx 85, type 50) tveeprom 1-0050: TV standards NTSC(M) (eeprom 0x08) tveeprom 1-0050: audio processor is MSP3445 (idx 12) tveeprom 1-0050: decoder processor is SAA7115 (idx 19) tveeprom 1-0050: has no radio, has IR remote ivtv0: Corrected autodetection from Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 to Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250 ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (262144 bytes) ivtv0: Encoder revision: 0x02050032 ivtv0: Allocate DMA encoder MPEG stream: 128 x 32768 buffers (4096KB total) ivtv0: Allocate DMA encoder YUV stream: 194 x 10800 buffers (2048KB total) ivtv0: Allocate DMA encoder VBI stream: 120 x 17472 buffers (2048KB total) ivtv0: Allocate DMA encoder PCM audio stream: 455 x 4608 buffers (2048KB total) tuner 1-0061: type set to 50 (TCL 2002N) ivtv0: Initialized Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250, card #0 ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ==================== cx2388x v4l2 driver version 0.0.5 loaded -=-=-=- I also changed tried editing /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv adding options tuner type = 39 and type 2 all the same results channel 5 only. OK, I think I found the issue. there are two places to set the coax cable frequencies. one in the main setup and one for the channel line up. I was changing the wrong one. The one in the channel line up fixed the issue. |

In mythtv-setup the one under "Video Sources" should be set to default. This will let the one under "General" control it. For most cases you want to make the right setting at the highest level possible since that gives you less places to fix it. Also, as I''ve said many, many times before, if you can use zap2it for SDTV (NTSC) do not scan for channels. It will only screw things up. BTW - Didn't I already answer this same question for you once before? I seem to remember telling you that only getting channel 5 and/or 6 was a classic symptom of the wrong frequency set. http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=BlackScreenWatchingTV Or did you post it somewhere that it was off topic and get it deleted? ![]() |

I posted the message, and there was a reply, but for some reason the thread disappeared? http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 1969#71969 was the original post, but it is now gone. So I thank you, twice, this time I got to read your reply, and I will use the Zap2it hint. |
