Hi

I'm building a box for a collegue with r5d1 on, and have hit a problem with a freecom dvb usb stick.

the card is a rev 3 card with a pci id of 14aa:0225. I have sucessfully compiled and installed the latest v4l software.

The stick is picked up by usb when I plug it in, and I get a "configuratio#1 chosen from 1 choice" message, but no messages following that from dvb-usb. I've checked against the v4l site and teh relevant drivers all seem to be loaded, and the card is supported now by v4l.

I have a production myth box myself with 2 freecom cards and they were both picked up by hotplug straight away.

My feeling is that the problem lies with the dvb/usb stuff.

has anybody else come across this at all?

thanks

gaz

I am working on the same problem after purchasing the same USB device last week. I upgraded to R5E50 but it made no difference.

As far as I can see, the problem is caused by R5E50 having been built with a kernel version that has an old version of the dtt200u.ko driver module from the dvb-kernel sources. The new version correctly detects the new USB ID's and attempts to load the correct firmware (dvd_usb_wt200u_fc03.fw)

I have grabbed the latest version of the dtt200u driver and I am in the process of trying to compile it. Once successful, I will post it somewhere handy.

Incidently, if you want to check out your freecom stick, The Knoppix 5.1 live CD distro picks it up no problem.

Hi

R5E50 picks up sticks with firmware rev 02, and the zl353 firmware straight out of the box.

I've now got R5E50 working with a stick with the rev 03 firmware as well. Grab the kernel source and reset the symlinks in usr/src and /lib/modules and it'll compile no problem.

In fact the box has got 3 sticks all different revisions in and working great now.

Oddly the box would only pick up 1 card initially, but is now, without intervention picking up all 3 sticks correctly.
