So I want to get MythGame running, and I've ordered a wireless USB gamepad to use for it. I've searched and found many threads related to using a joystick or gamepad INSTEAD of a remote, but I'm really happy with my remote situation through my PVR350. I want to keep the remote for all other functions, but make the joystick work for games? I don't care if the gamepad works also for TV control (I just will not use it), but does anyone know of a thread to do what i want?

I guess my questions are:
-IF I plug in a game pad via USB, what do I need to do it get it to work (I'm assuming adding a device in the XF86Config-4 file???).

-Will it mess up my existing remote functions, and if so, how to do segregate these controls?

Thanks,

Just plug it in, good chance it will just work. It won't (or shouldn't) interfere with your remote, the default arrangement is that the two are totally independant. You may need to configure your games/emulators to find the right joystick device, but otherwise nothing to worry about.

Its nothing to do with X, it should come up as a device (/dev/js0 or similar IIRC).
