Thanks to all your help i got mythtv working. My problem is now I have no sound. I was trying to find what i needed to mute and what line should i be plugged into. I have the card plugged into line in and i tried aux as well to no success.

The system seems slow as anything. The video without the sound is choppy. and grainy. I haven't event tried to record anything yet. I know the capture card is not the best in terms of performance and the reviews of it under linux rate the card quite badly. Should i just pitch the card and pick up another card.

Question with the hauppage 350. Do i need to cable for its tv output as well or can i just run myth from the tv output on the 350.

I tried ripping a cd. I can play the ogg file from the backend, but i get no sound when i try playing it in knoppmyth R5D1.

Just for laughs, i tried the knoppix linux on cd 3.9 and for some reason it is ble to play tv with a better image quality with full sound. Well the sound turned screechy after a while. But it showed my hardware working. I just dont understand why knoppmyth wasn't working.

I assume you mean coax when you say cable out. With the PVR-350 you can either use s-video out, or component out. I use s-video, and it works great. I loop my sound through the onboard sound, and configure with alsamixer.
