Post subject: | audio does not sync (won't stop on pause) |
I am not terribly new to linux, but am to myth. I have the backend and frontend running on one box (athlon 1.2, 384mb, with an old hauppauge analoge tuner model 61381). I am able to watch video and I can hear audio, but only when A) plugged straight into the tuner card OR B) when I pass the audio via "cd audio" cable from the tuner to the system board or the Sound Blaster card. However, the video is about 4 seconds behind the video AND when I pause, the audio keeps playing I HAVE run both aumix and alsamixer and set all possible inputs to 100%, as well as master volume In mythtv-setup, I have my tuner card audio device set to "/dev/dsp" I do not see BTTV audio in either audio mixer What other information might be helpful? I've been banging my head against the wall for a couple days now. Oh yeah, I'm using Knoppmyth R5D1. |

Classic symptom of failing to mute the audio input you are recording from with alsamixer when using a bttv tuner card. A search of the forums for the highlighted terms (don't forget to click the radio button for "require all terms") should turn up detailed instructions. |

Thanks! Now I get audio and it is in sync with the video. Now I have to hit the search and figure out why it's only in on channel (right). |

How? I got my WinTV-Go to work tonight but since the audio runs off the card into the Line/Mic input it doesn't seem to operate dependant on the video. (Ie, won't pause with livetv, won't sync up with video feed, etc) I've searched the boards and the wiki and can't seem to find the exact details of what I'm supposed to do. I messed around with aumix and alsamixer setting LineIn to capture, but it didn't seem to work. When I feed the Audio through the mic input I can atleast here it, when I try to run it through the LineIn I cannot even hear it. edit After some fiddling around (accompanied by a banjo) I was able to get it to work. However I've got this terrible whining noise because, for some reason, it'll only work with IGain on. |
