Post subject: | HDTV not working in RD51 (FIXED: Stupid user error) |
I upgraded my frontend from R5A30.2 to R5D1 and now my HDTV is not receiving video. A monitor works fine, and I am using the same XF86config-4 file that I was using on A30.2, but now the tv does not receive a signal. I'm guessing that something changed between these two versions that is preventing me from doing this? Please help me, my wife will kill me if I can't get this back up and running... Any configuration files are available upon request. |

You need to provide more information about your problem. From your description I can't tell if your system won't record HD programs or display anything on the screen. Your KM box has one or more recorder cards in it. What kind does it have? Did you change anything during the install process of R5D1? Is the display showing anything? What kind of display card do you have? What is your CPU and motherboard? How much memory and disk? Did anything happen during the installation that made you wonder or worry about it? Any messages or any steps that didn't seem to go right? You have to give us as much info as you can. |

Hey Liv2cod, thanks for the response. This is a frontend-only computer that was working just fine on R5A30.2. I'm having problems displaying out from the video card's DVI port to my HDTV's HDMI port. It's like I have no signal going to the TV. The only thing that I'm aware has changed is the version of knoppmyth from R5A30.2 to R5D1. As I mentioned before, I am using the same XF86Config-4 file as I was using on R5A30.2. My computer specs shouldn't really matter, because I'm not having problems displaying HD content, but any content including the myth menu to the HDTV, but here they are: Athlon XP 2800 FX5200 1Gb RAM 10GB HD Install seemed to go just fine. As I mentioned, if I reboot with a monitor attached to the Dsub on the video card it outputs to the monitor just fine. It was when I copied my XF86Config-4 over from my backup and rebooted the computer with just the cable between the HDTV and the Frontend connected that I noticed the first issue: namely that I had no signal apparently going to the TV... |

Nevermind, the problem was that my video card was loose... It must have happened when I was switching cables between the monitor and the tv... It appears to be working correctly now. |
