I just reinstalled Knoppmyth to R5D1 because I wanted to upgrade my 80GB drive (250GB now). Previously everything pretty much worked out of the box. Before I only had to run: Code: amixer set Master,0 100%,100% unmute amixer set PCM,0 100%,100% unmute amixer set Line,0 75%,75% mute captur amixer set Capture,0 100%,100% captur alsactl store I did that again on the new install and I have no audio from any TV (live/recorded). I have a MSI Hetis 865GV which uses RealTek ALC655 (ICH5 also). My Tuner is a Compro Videomate TV Gold-Plus, video part of it works fine. Since my last install went smooth I don't remember what modules were loaded or much of the configuration below, but this is what I have now. I think my Tuner card should be in the sound card listing (or no?). My cables are setup the same way I think. Line-out of tuner goes to Line-in of onboard card. Line-out of onboard card goes to speakers. If I do Code: # aplay /usr/share/sounds/randomsound.wav it works perfectly, so my soundcard should be working fine. Just not from tuner. Code: # amixer

I don't see any sign of digital in alsamixer, but I did play around and turn things off, to no avail. Also Knoppmyth itself is setup by default. Sound going to /dev/dsp. I changed it to /dev/dsp0 and that didn't help. Has anyone run into this or can tell me what to troubleshoot? Thanks! |

A little bit more info. If I plug my speakers directly into the Audio out of my tuner card it doesn't have any sound. Typically I would do that for testing and the sound would be off by 2-3 seconds. This time nothing is being outputted. So it has to lie with my tuner card. What steps should I go through to see that it is setup properly? |
