Post subject:  Intel X3000 video + MythTV = overscan

I'm running MythTV 0.20 with an Intel motherboard that has the G965 chipset and X3000 onboard video, displaying to a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor. When I use either the vesa driver or the i810 driver, playback of widescreen content using MythTV's internal player causes it to automatically set to 4:3 mode, where it zooms in on the center of the widescreen content. Hitting 'w' prints out the different aspect ratios to the display but doesn't actually change what I'm seeing. If I switch to an nVidia card, playback is letterboxed, as I would expect, and 'w' again changes aspect ratios.

Anyone else seeing this? Any hints on how to fix it? The MythTV menus look normal, and the screen definition appears to be correct, since running mplayer on the same content, telling it to zoom and go full screen plays back letterboxed. (So it's not as if xorg.conf thinks my monitor is widescreen when it isn't.)

Also, a tip: If you have X3000 onboard video, I do not recommend using it with XvMC or OpenGL just yet. Neither seems to crash, but neither works well right now, either.
