Post subject: | Joystick assigned to /dev/js2 ?? |
I have a logitech wireless rumblepad that gets assigned to /dev/js2 instead of js0 as i would expect. It is the only joystick i have. How do I find out what is assigned to js0 and js1? Can i force my gamepad to js0? when i do a jstest /dev/js0 and js1 it gives output instead of saying "no device exists". It works as expected for /dev/js2 but I would prefer the joystick be assigned to js0 as that is the default controller used by mame and the other emulators. Any help would be appreciated output from message log when joystick plugged in: Dec 17 19:42:04 mythtv kernel: usb 1-4: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 6 Dec 17 19:42:04 mythtv kernel: usb 1-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Dec 17 19:42:04 mythtv kernel: Force feedback for Logitech force feedback devices by Johann Deneux <johann.deneux@it.uu.se> Dec 17 19:42:04 mythtv kernel: input: Logitech Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 as /class/input/input4 Dec 17 19:42:04 mythtv kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Gamepad [Logitech Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2] on usb-0000:00:02.0-4 Dec 17 19:42:04 mythtv input.agent[21552]: joydev: already loaded Dec 17 19:42:05 mythtv usb.agent[21535]: usbhid: already loaded *************UPDATED**************** when i do a jstest /dev/js0 the button presses go off and on when I push my mouse buttons. Does this keyboard and mouse plug into a usb port? I think linux is assigning all HID (human interface device) devices to a /dev/js device. Try booting up your box with no keyboard/mouse/gamepad plugged in. Then plug in the gamepad first followed by the keyboard and mouse. I bet the gamepad gets /dev/js0. |
