I am looking to buind a PVR and I have been reading a lot on it.

My coworker told me today that he built one two years ago and that you have to do extra stuff just to be able to record over channel 99.

Does anyone have any guidance here? I have Comcast digital cable.

you'll need to use a cable box and an IRBlaster.

myth used the IRBlaster to change the channel on the cable box, the tuned signal is sent fromt he cable box to the myth box.

there are a few extra steps, but I think they are pretty straight forward. search here for IRBlaster
