I'm new to Linux and have gotten KnopMyth R5E50 running thanks to the posts here. I have not been able to get my remote working. I have searched and followed many of the suggestions here with no luck. At this point I think that I've probably messed things up to the point that it will never work. I'd like to reinstall and start from scratch. If someone has gotten this remote to work in R5E50, could you give me the step by step or point me to a post that works in R5E50? Try running lirc-reconfig.sh as root. Select Hauppauge and the PVR-150 remote.

I'm not sure what I'd done wrong. After your reply, I ran 'lirc-reconfig.sh' once again than ran 'irw' so I could show you a screen shot of the 'connection refused' error I was gettiing. This time 'irw' worked and upon reboot the remote worked in Mythtv. Thanks for not flaming the noob with your response.
