Hi everyone. I'm trying to get KnoppMyth R5E50 set up on an VIA EPIA-M 1000 with a WinTV Nova-T USB stick. The install seemed to go ok but when I go to configure the DVB stick from the GUI it hasn't been recognised. I searched the forums and tried to follow the advice here but I don't seem to have a /usr/local/share/dvb directory - in fact dvbscan doesn't seem to exist anywhere on the system. It doesn't look like anyone else has hit the same problem - is this stick supposed to work out of the box now? Are the utilities not included any more? Does anyone know what I might have done wrong? Thanks in advance. Rich. |

Rich. I think you're right, thought I would do a clean install as I haven't used the box much, and dvbscan has gone, also scan for channels doesn't work ( fails to find anything same as in R5D1 ), which would be the other alternative. I will try pulling it off the old R5D1 CD and see what happens |

I discovered that the usb stick isn't even getting mounted under /dev - there is no /dev/dvb area so after fumbling around with modprobe for a while with no success I gave R5D1 a try. Now the utils are there and I have a /dev/dvb/adapter0 but myth still doesn't pick it up and dvbscan fails with missing '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' main:2228 Fatal: failed to open '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' : 19 No such device |

Same problem here. I too reverted to R5D1 . which helped, but ended up with the same device errors. After much thrashing about on the web : http://mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppa ... ova-T_USB2 Built the latest drivers, but had a hard time finding the firmware file mentioned - 'dvb-usb-dib0700-01.fw' Eventually found a copy at : http://vaasa.wi-bw.tfh-wildau.de/~pboet ... 0700-01.fw Dropped it into /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware and hey presto A few hours of my life I wish I could have back......good luck. |
