I looked into this card briefly about a month ago, since I was wanting a second capture card. At that time, the info that I could find on it was all from Hauppauge's site, and had very few details.

Since it sounded quite different from my current PVR-150 (which has been working like a champ with IVTV), I decided to pass and continued looking for a deal on the 150. I doubt IVTV will support the 1033, since it looks to be quite a different animal.

YMMV

(BTW - the second 150 that I added works like a charm - even with the second IR blaster!)

the WinTV-Go series, including the Plus, uses the bt878(a) chip. It works as much as you'd expect it to. You need a pretty decent PC to work with this card so it can handle the "on-the-fly" encoding. Also, to get the sound to work you need a patch cable from the line-out on card to the line-in on your sound card.

I had one and the biggest problem I had was the sound always had this high pitched squel. It's possible to ignore, some of my friends (specifically the girls) didn't notice it until I pointed it out, but it bothered the hell out of me. Also the picture quality is a little grainy, but I didn't notice HOW grainy until I upgraded to a PVR-150.

Ultimately, I recommend saving up for a PVR series. My next major upgrade to my box is another PVR-150. I still have my WinTV Go Plus but now it's sitting on the table, completely unused...

Hey,

I've got this card also.
These are my first steps in MythTV...

The software detects it very good (chipset BT848A). But then i get stuck. I can't manage to scan any channels. Can somebody point me out what i need to select for the Capture card? I see that i can select 4 kind with this chipset? I tried several cards, but never recieved any channel...

ps don't now if it's important, but i'm from Belgium (West-European).
