I'm trying to get the multimedia keys on my BTC 9019URF keyboard to work within the newest release of KnoppMyth (5E50).

I'm glad to say that the Edit Keys menu detects the key presses but it returns an error "Pressed key not recognized"

Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem using my ATI Remote Wonder. I have had to use xmodmap to do the mappings but, this seems to make some of the alpha-numeric keys flaky. I would like to be able to use the edit keys function instead but it doesn't seem to recognize these additional keys.

Is it really such a rare desire to use the keyboard multimedia keys for MythTV? I have a hard time believing it... programmable remotes are fantastic but the whole interface seems unfinished without those keys (designed for just such a purpose) not being put to use. The keyboard will always be at hand and those keys are going to be a constant reminder that my install isn't polished.
If anyone has advice on how to get them working I'd really appreciate it!

There's a Gentoo HOWTO using xev and xmodmap. Then there's an Ubuntu HOWTO using setkeycodes and xmodmap.
