Post subject:  Universal Learning Remotes

So the consensus seems to be that the easiest way to get a remote working is to teach a universal learning remote your IR keyboard keystroke codes.

Sounds like a great idea, I want to run with it!

Problem is, my keyboard is RF, not IR...

Does anyone know of any remotes that will learn RF codes? I notice that a lot of new remotes feature RF, but they all mention IR bridges. Their documentation only seems to make mention of the RF as a range extender to get to their bridge, so I am unsure if they actually learn RF as well as IR.

Can anyone clue me in?

Sorry, but I never heard of RF learning remotes, except for garage door openers. But these have very few buttons and aren't suitable for consumer devices. Very nice idea, though. Would make the whole remote thing very easy!

Some of the Harmony remotes support RF via Z-Wave, whatever that is
