I've got an AirStar HD card, and a PVR-150 card (WinMCE edition) that came with a remote and a USB receiver AND IR Blaster. Can I use this one USB receiver and remote to change channels on either tuner card? If so, is there anything special that has to be done during Mythsetup? It asked me if I had a remote (I said yes, PVR-150 with ir blaster--NOT the dogbone). I'm not sure if "dogbone" referse to the shape or the blaster or what, so maybe I picked the wrong one? It asked if I had a blaster setup on serial port - I said no. Does this mean it switches to USB? Or do I have to do something special for the USB version? |

So I see that this USB remote is supported, although I'm still not quite clear if it can "control" both cards or not. Nor am I clear WHICH exact remote is it. Another posting here shows a picture of the PVR-150 remote and it looks nothing like mine. Mine looks more like the MCE remote. But it doesn't say Microsoft on it. Plus, when I do a: lsusb I don't see anything except: Standard Micro Systems There's no model # or identifying parts on this remote that came with the PVR-150 |

You only need one remote to control mythtv, no matter how many tuners you have. The remote and the tuner are treated seperately in linux and mythtv. I have never used the remotes and receivers that actually came with my various tuners, as they either weren't suitable for a PVR or didn't work properly. |

Great, thanks! I'll just have to fight/play more with this remote or break down and spend $30 on the zapstream or whatever it's called. I have a Logitech Harmony, but that's just the remote. I'll need to hunt around for the USB IR receiver/blaster that's supported by MythTV (if such a thing exists). |
