I just bit the bullet and set up TV output on my system again (Shuttle SN41G2 which uses an nvida nforce 2 chipset that includes built in Geforce4 MX video and S-Video output) under an R4V3 install. With the info I'd found in the forums the last attempt it went pretty quickly but I've also got some of the same problems that made me give up on it the last time. Anybody have clues on:

- Over saturated colors

It's not just the reds this time, the blues are also way too intense. Since I've got twinview working and the TV can switch between inputs it's really easy to compare. Both the monitor and the TV on it's own tuner look OK. TV output from the S-Video has glowing bleeding oversaturated reds and blues and greens. It's like all the colors have been turned up to 11. Has anyone tried using the composite adapter? Does that make any difference? I've tried adjusting the TV's settings but that only gets me so much and leaves the TV looking pale on it's own.

- Undersized fonts

Is the font size selected in MythTV set up even honored? Switching from default to big didn't seem to do anything, so I tried small and still saw no difference... I've hunted through the forums trying to find the thread with a recipe to tweak these but haven't had much luck.

- Oh, and I almost forgot, The XV controls aren't working.

Hitting F while watching live TV or a recording brings up the display, but using the left and right arrow keys only works for the sound settings... WTH? I'm pretty sure that I didn't accidentally enable XvMC...

to fix the colors I always use the xv color controls. This is a setting option under setup > tv > playback if I remember correctly. once you check this the F should allow you to change the colors, Now one other note nvidia drivers will not currently use xv on both monitor and TV. It only works on one or the other. I only have tv hooked up and have no problems, but if you want twinview you have to decide which one gets xv. As for the fonts seems like lots of people have been having that problem, but I haven't seen it. Maybe it has something to do with twinview, as I only use a tv ever at all. I do the entire setup with only tv.

Just for comparison, what does the fonts section of your XF86Config-4 look like?
