Knoppmyth does not seem to like my monitor. I am using the latest version. I tested it by running it off the CD. I answer all the questions, but when Knoppix actually starts, my monitor goes into a weird state where the entire display is out of sync and screwed up. I tried different startup options, but the same thing happens. Even attempts to set the resolution do not work. I even tried using different video boards. I get the same problem. I think I know the problem: perhaps KnoppMyth is setting up the X86 Configuration files in such a way that it is incompatable with my monitor? Problem is that the installation and the CD running version don't seem to give any way of setting the X86 configuration. By the time the OS comes up it is too late to change anything (you see no terminal, no menus, nothing). Not oly that, but my monitor is a multisync monitor; the settings would have to be pretty bad to screw up its display. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there some way to stop it from happening? I'd like to install this, but if it screws up my monitor's display, how can I configure MythTV??? Thanks |
