All- Having problems getting my rt2570 based wireless card working in R5E50. I have installed module assistant and have been trying to get it to compile and install the rt2570 source, but I keep running into the error: "No rules to make target 'modules' " I tried downloading and extracting the r5e50 source but that didnt seem to help. I've been struggling with this all afternoon. Wireless is pretty much a necessity for my mythbox. The changelog says that R5D1 included the rt2570 module. Was it removed from R5E50? If not I suppose I could just use R5D1... -JTC |

Is the module included in E50 not loading? Do you have lines like this in your /etc/network/interfaces file? auto lo eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp wireless-key yourWEPkeyifyouuseWEP wireless-essid YourWirelessNetworkSSID The driver has become a little fussy, so you may need to ifup/ifdown your device a few times to get it to stick. |

Man this is a real deal breaker for me. My apartment is too large to for me to use a wired connection, wireless is a must. I tried R5D1 - no luck Compiled latest rt2570 on r5d1 - can successfully scan and associate with AP but no dhcp Thought about ndiswrapper on r5d1 or r5e50 but from posts it sounds like ndis is broken on both of these. This sucks. This is like my 3rd go round with mythtv and I always get hung up on wireless or LIRC. Help please?? -JTC ![]() |
