Post subject:  Analog audio with two DVB cards

I am running two DVB cards (PcHDTV5500 and a Dvico Fusion 5 gold). The both work ok, but seem to take a while to tune an analog channel after watching an ATSC channel (this doesn't happen under windows).

My question is about using the analog tuners of both cards. Each card has a mini jack output to feed into the mobo audio input. When I view an analog channel the audio is routed from that mobo input.

How can I use both analog tuners if there is only one audio input on the mobo? Is there a way to get the audio through the PCI bus? There must be a way to use two of these cards.

Hi Erik,
Not all sound cards have this ability, but I know for sure the SB Live has multiple input channels. They are internal (i.e. the jacks are not on the outside of the case) and hence have a different connector.

My WinTV PCI has this sort of jack, I have connected it to several of the inputs and all seemed to work fine for me. I imagine you should have no trouble connecting multiple capture cards to these various inputs - provided the DVB card has a compatible internal jack.

Some of these alternate inputs are: TAD, Auxillary, CD, Line 2.

Even a basic on-board sound card would likely do the trick so long as your DVB card has the jack I'm talking about - just use the CD jack on the motherboard as well as the line-in on the outside.

That's a good idea, I will try one of the other inputs on the mobo,.. but how will myth know to switch to that input when using that particular tuner card?
