Ok, so, I've been poking around and tryin to dig up some more dirt on these IOBOUND messages I keep getting in my log files. I came across the following at the mythtv wiki. http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Talk:PCI_Latency When I run a "lspci -v" this is what I get: Code: root@backend:~# lspci -v 00:00.0 Memory controller: nVidia Corporation CK804 Memory Controller (rev a3) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. According to the wiki article above, this could be a problem and the solution there is to adjust the latency timer for other devices (specifically the IDE or SATA controller). So, I run the command as indicated and lo and behold, I experience the same problem of the value not actually taking. (I'm running an nForce4 board - Asus A8N5X). Code: root@backend:~# setpci -v -s 00:06.0 latency_timer=b0 00:06.0:0d b0 and again, here is the result of lspci -v: Code: 00:06.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation CK804 IDE (rev f2) (prog-if 8a [Master SecP PriP])
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Will bumping it actually take care of the IOBOUND messages that are coming up? Will adding a PCI IDE card resolve this as it sounds like something that's hitting just the onboard devices? Will trying to move my cards around so that I don't have one of the PVR 150s on the same bus as my IDE controller perhaps resolve this? Anybody have any input or suggestions? |
