Very odd, I see a lot of linux users are having issues with this. Here goes..

With ifconfig eth0 up---- Adapter comes up, recognizes 100Mps FullDuplex, cant ping anything on the network. loaded latest driver from viaarena.com same thing.

I booted up with a Gentoo cd and it came up and was workable, anyone have any ideas? I looked around for hours but havent come up with anything solid.

I have the same problem, and i look into the knoppix.net

And so I found that I must Disable the ACPI support in the Bios.

And now the Network work.
