Post subject:  Unable to change permissions on USB HD

I have an external USB HD that was automatically mounted as /media/My Book on my myth-box on first connection. No previous configuration made. The problem is that I cannot figure out how to change permissions on the drive. I have no idea what process it was that mounted the drive and i cannot find any configuration files that mentions automounting into /media.

Has anyone got any hints for what I can do to change the permissions? The file system is FAT32, would it possibly help if I formatted it as ext3 instead?

I dumped the contents of the drive to another computer and reformatted it as ext3. After that I have had no problems. Still a bit curious about what it is thats automounting the drive. Has anyone got an idea?

Probably autofs/automount. Take a look at the man page for autofs, it will guide you to the numerous config files.
