is it possible to play fceu through pvr-350 tv-out? when i try it is very slow and im thinking its because of the card im using. my machine is slow, a pentium 2 750 , but i would have thought that would be fast enough for nes games. thanks |

The PVR-350 definitely isn't a video card in the normal sense, and the framebuffer trick which is used to allow it to do the X server display has serious limitations. |

Using the ivtv X11 driver instead of framebuffer mode speeds things up a lot. It's still not fast compared to modern GPUs, and I don't know that it's going to make the game in question playable, but it's worth a try. |

hmmmm.. well i looked around and i am at a loss. could you point me in the right direction to further investigate this "ivtv driver instead of frame buffer" deal? |

just in case anybody stumbles on this with the same problem... it was kind of an illusion. the video was ok but the sound was bad. i did apt-get install libsdl1.2-oss and changed the command to "aoss fceu" and it works great. |
