I am interested in hearing from those that have the Hauppauge MediaMVP front end: especially lessons learned and limitations. |

I used to run a MediaMVP front end. Pros: * true MPEG2 hardware decoding, so you get properly interlaced playback of MPEG2 recordings from the S-video or composite outs, no deinterlacing/reinterlacing needed. * very small, completely silent Cons: * not a full-featured MythTV front end * no HD support * only plays MPEG2 recordings, no Xvid or other codecs * requires lots of server setup with tFTP, DHCP, etc. I'd say it'd be an OK solution for a guest room or hooked to an old TV. |

The picture quality is awesome but i found it a little flickery (UK PAL) |
