Post subject: | Half-height PCI Capture Cards ? |
...So I bought a 3.2 ghz IBM off ebay, with the intention of making another Mythbox for my daughter. I had it running HD recordings off my old hard drive with R5E50 in about 10 minutes, but crashed & burned when I discovered all the PCI slots are half height. I've been using full height Air-2-PC, Kworld 110 & 115 cards and am blanked as to what to use that will fit half-height slots. Anyone have any experience in this area ? ![]() |

what about the HD-5500? They call it "low profile" but it's pictured with a full-height bracket. I'm not sure if it means you can order it with a short bracket or just that it's a short card. good luck! |

Too Many Secrets wrote: dvico lite maybe? Check support though. My Fusion Lite is low-profile. It didn't come with a low-profile bracket, but with some minor cutting/bending it should fit the bill...

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to try out the HD Homerun box. It connects via LAN so it doesn't take up any space in the PC at all. Features dual tuners, too. |

Thank you gents ! I'll look into those... (The computer is currently playing fine with the cover off & a Kworld 110 sticking out of the top...) ....but this is probably a temporary solution... ![]() |

When I bought my divco Fusion lite 5 in early 2006, it came as a full height but had a half height bracket in the package. It's been over a year so YMMV. |

Thanks ! I'm seeking a Dvico Fusion 5 lite, since it seems to be one that works... as long as the card size is low, I'll find a way to deal with the bracket .... ![]() ....Indeed I got one & put it in. It comes with both a short & 'regular' size bracket. ![]() |
