Post subject:  Is this a Viable Setup?

I Bought a Radeon 9800 SE - All in Wonder, and a shuttle SN45G with the intention of creating a multi-media box. I've played a little in windows, to say that i dont get on with ATIs Software would be an understatement :p

Would the following Kit be good enough for KnoppMyth, and suitable for a user with only light linux experience to setup?

SN45G (nforce2 Shuttle)
2200 Athlon XP
512mb DDR
120gb Hard Disk
Radeon 9800SE All in Wonder.

My Aim is to be able to watch TV, Record TV, Playback Movie's from Local Optical Drive or over the Network, Through a TV or Monitor as Desired. As the main control source i'd like to use the ATI Remote if possible. What concerns me a little is some of the posts here about software & hardware encoding, multiple streams, audio shenanigans etc.

Would KnoppMyth enable me to do this? and what possible problems/headaches am i likely to encounter?

Thanx In Advance

the all in wonders will not record in linux end of story. Don't blame us ati won't give the driver developers the specs and haven't included the functionality in their own proprietary drivers either.
