I'm a linux newbie and I almost have my knoppmyth (R5F1) completely configured, but I'm still having issues with my MCE remote that came with my Hauppauge PVR-500. From this thread I gather that I need to go from lirc-0.8.2pre2 to lirc-0.8.2pre3, as there is an update for a newer model of the Hauppauge remote. I'm able to grab it from sourceforge http://lirc.sourceforge.net/software/snapshots/ via wget, but I'm confused as to what command to use to dpkg it. I tried Code: dpkg lirc-0.8.0pre3.tar.bz2 but I don't know what "action options" to attach to the command.
Also, thanks to everyone who keeps this community going! Its been a great resource for a newb trying to get his pvr going. |
