Yesterday I decided to test a 2.6 kernel on my knoppmyth box, lazy as I am I apt-get installed kernel-image-2.6.6-1-k7.
Everything works fine, except for my ati remote.

With the 2.4 kernel it worked perfectly, using the modules ati_remote, mousedev and keybdev. In 2.6 mousedev and keybdev does'nt exist but I think they are called usbmouse and usbkbd but even with those loaded the remote does not work. I'm using the ati_remote module that is included in 2.6

Anyone here got the ati remote working with a 2.6 kernel?

Event notification module evdev.ko might be what you are missing. You can add them in /etc/modules or /etc/modules-2.6 in proper order before other USB modules.

AFAIK the ATI Remote doesn't work w/ 2.6. You'll need to recompile LIRC(get the latest) to support the remote.

I'm slightly confused. So does this mean that the ati_remote driver will compile and work with 2.6? Could you post instructions. I'm debating whether to try and port the changes made by the guy in the other post (forget his name, beautiful artwork though) to LIRC to get it working with 2.6. If I don't have to that would be great.

AFAIK the ati_remote driver went into the official kernel from 2.6.5.
I'm using a 2.6.6-k7 debian kernel and I just had to load the correct modules.
