I have the DLink USB wireless working - sort of. It is detected and connects to the access point, but after a while the connection just disappears - like the adapter was disconnected. If I unplug and reconnect the adapter it seems to work again. I did a search, and not much info on this problem, but I may have missed something. This worked out of the box with R4V4, so I don't know if I still need to recompile or reconfigure anything since it seems to work for a while. I am having a bit of an issue with the machine locking up (the keyboard lights blink), but I have not been able to narrow this down to a specific thing. Maybe they are related, but it has not happened often enough to really figure it out. Any ideas on how to get the DLink working before I just punt and put another access point on the network and use the ethernet port to connect? |

Is it working with WEP? I had the DWL-122 working flawlessly with R4V2 and I compiled and installed the wlan myself, worked for months without a hitch. Well I decided to go to R4V4 and I saw that it was detected and I thought sweet this should be pretty slick. Well all I had was problems, I could get it to work once in a while without WEP and never with. Let me know if you get it working! I went back to a 10/100 card and everything is working but I have a cable running to the living room. |

No WEP - open wireless router. Yeah, yeah - security hole but one thing at a time. |

well I think there is something in the kernel that R4V4 is using that doesn't like wireless. I have an orinoco card, and I tried to go from R4V2 to R4V3 (which uses basically the same kernel as R4V4) and I could not get my wireless card to be reliable no matter what I did. I ended up going back to R4V2. And it wasn't just the version of drivers included in the kernel, because I recompiled a different version, and still no luck, but It works great with the included drivers on R4V2. |
