Hello, I am thinking about using the Gyration USB keyboard+mouse combo on R4V2. I was wondering if anyone has had any success with this combo? It looks to be completely USB based. I was wondering about what additional install/config steps would be required to get both the keyboard and mouse working? Thanks, M |

I used a Gyration keyboard and mouse successfully on a previous version of KnoppMyth. I didn't need to do any special configuration to get it working, just plugged it in, booted the PC and followed the directions to establish the link between the devices. However I did have some problems with the hardware itself. First, the mouse is tricky to use in the air. It took me a while to get even reasonably proficient with it. Fortunately most of what I was doing only required the keyboard. Second, the connection between the keyboard, mouse, and the dongle attached to my PC was erratic at best. I had plenty of lost keystrokes that drove me crazy. In the end I took the whole thing back. I ended up buying an IR keyboard from here instead: http://www.internetishop.com/product_detail.asp?main_cat_no=&sub_cat_no=&item=KB-AC-AIRKEY At $9.00, it sure as heck beats the price tag of the Gyration, and I have had a great deal more success typing and pointing with it. |
