I am planning to set up my KnoppMythBox with the following components:

- Shuttle xPC SN41G2V2, AMD-333
- AMD Athlon XP 3000+, Box, Fan
- Lite-On 832S IDE, "+/-R"
- Kingston Dual-DDR 512MB,PC3200
- 200 GB IDE, Maxtor 6Y200P0
- HauppaugeWinTV PVR 350,Stereo,...
- DLink WLAN USB Adapter (DWL-120)

Does anybody see any issues with this hardware?
I am especially wondering about the support of
- DVD ReWriter
- WLAN Adapter (it's USB)

I'd appreciate any comments and good tips to avoid the pitfalls...

one thing you might want to keep in mind w/ the 350, i hear its still alot of work to get the tv-out working. The only real difference between the 350 and the 250 is the tv-out, i believe

The difference is in the TV-out and the FM-Tuner (that I don't really need)

I do want to connect my TV, but could obviously also do it through the onboard graphic.

Browsing through the forum I gather I could get a PVR-250 save me some money and trouble not trying to get my TV to work with the PVR-350 TV-out rather than the onboard tv-out of the shuttle.

The Shuttle already comes with an integrated heatsink and fan solution. You don't want the retail boxed Athlon with the fan, but rather the OEM one without which is cheaper ayway.

Unless you have a particular urge to fight with getting TV-Out working with the PVR-350, save yourself some bucks, get a PVR-250, and use the SVideo out on the Motherboard. There are lots of fairly easy recipes in the forums for getting that working.

I'd double check the 200Gb HD reviews and see how the Maxtor stack up on thermal and noise issues. The Seagate was the quietest and coolest when I looked. Shop carefully (and see the ongoing cheap HD thread in the "off topic" forum) and you should be able get the price down around $0.50-$0.60/Gb.

The wireless LAN is likely to give you problems. The DVD drive should be fine.

Make sure the D-Link has a prism2/2.5/3 chipset. If it has one of these, then it will probably work quite easily with KnopMyth (often you need to edit the module alias file).
