Ok, let me start by saying that I have installed MythTV a couple of times, but it seemed like something was always wrong, so I am giving knoppMyth a try for the first time. This is what I have:

AMD Athlon 1.2
Abit KT7-Raid
512 MB Ram
WinTV-Go
GForce4 MX440
SoundBlaster PCI 128

I am trying to build the system with parts I already have, doing it as cheap as possible you know. I had this system working somewhat before, but it seems like I always ran into trouble with the sound, could never get alsa to work. So I am wondering if this set up will work for knoppMyth

you may want to search the forums for soundblaster pci 128 seems like someone did have some problems with this soundcard, although I can't remember what the resolution was if there was one.

ok, for a sound card I am sure that I can dig one up, and if not, they are not too expensive. How about everything else, is it going to be too under powered to work?

nope that should be fine. Only a couple of things. with that processor if you want to add another tvcard it will need to be a hardware based card like pvr250/350, however I believe (though I didn't look this up and verify my recolections) that the motherboard you have is afflicted with the via chipset dma bug, which means that a pvr card won't work. So everything should work in the config you have now, but future expantion may require different parts.
