Hi,

I have a LifeView FlyVideo 3000 tuner (saa7134 based) that I wanted to put into my MythBox to supplement the PVR-150 it already has.

I am very frustrated with this card, because it seems like there is always some obstacle to making it work. It will output video fine, but the problem is getting audio. First, I tried the saa7134-alsa driver, but that produces some kernel bug when it loads (see http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18500).

Then, I just wanted to use the audio loopback cable. I have this going from the card's audio output to my sound card's line-in. I unmuted the video card with "v4lctl volume mute off", muted the line-in, and set it to capture with alsamixer. Sure enough, this got me audio. However, it lasts for about 5 seconds before the entire machine locks up completely and I have to power-cycle.

Has anyone else experienced this with this particular card, or with saa7134 based cards in general? FWIW, the tuner is type 50, a TCL 2002N.

Do you need to force the identification of the tuner card (modprobe.conf) as shown here?

I have 3 Kworld 115 cards that are saa7134 based. In the past with R5F27 I had to manually identify the cards in a similar matter (It is automatically done now in R5.5),

I did have to do that, and in fact I have tried both card=2 and card=95. Both give video output, but the audio problem is identical regardless of with card type I use. Thanks, though.
