This is a strange one, wondering if anyone has suggestions.
Main home machine has had two Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-108 for years. Recently, they have both started failing:
Code:
$ growisofs -Z /dev/hdd -dvd-video -use-the-force-luke \
-V "MythTV BurnDVD" /myth/mythburn/temp/DVD && \
eject /dev/hdd
Executing 'mkisofs -dvd-video -V MythTV BurnDVD /myth/mythburn/temp/DVD | builtin_dd of=/dev/hdd obs=32k seek=0'
:-[ PERFORM OPC failed with SK=3h/ASC=73h/ACQ=03h]: Input/output error
Now, I would normally write this down to bad media or a marginal drive laser, but the drives have very different usage patterns (hdd has had about 10% of the use of hdc), and I have tried three different DVD-R media.
Code:
$ dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/hdd

The other thing is that DVD-RW media works fine - it is only the DVD-R that is failing. The drives/media all seem fine in other ways, just not when trying to burn.
