I just did an install of Knoppmyth on a brand new system, and ran into some issues with my keyboard install. It is a Versapoint RF Keyboard with an integral mouse. The receiver for it plugs into a USB port. If I plug it in, and remove the standard keyboard, lilo seems to hang right after

Code:
pty:256 Unix98 ptys configured

Leaving both keyboards plugged in, the boot process will complete, and I can use the Versapoint. But it doesn't seem to recognize the Versapoint mouse commands, just the keyboard. I can leave my PS/2 mouse plugged in, and it works, but I can't seem to get the Versapoint mouse to work whether or not the PS/2 mouse is plugged in at boot time. I looked on a few other Myth related boards, and saw a little talk about the Versapoint, but none where someone was having it recognize the keyboard, but not the mouse. Any suggestions on what I should be looking at to fix either of these problems?

Also, since this is my first post, I just wanted to thank the developers of Knoppmyth. Once I figured out my SATA problems, and put a parallel ATA drive in, the install went very smoothly.

Brad

edit: I did check out this post which mentions a similar problem with the booting:
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1403, and will double check the BIOS settings later to see if that makes a difference.

Since it is a USB mouse, check XF86Config-4 and ensure it is set to use a USB mouse.

That was part of my problem, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. But after doing that, the motion on the mouse was acting very weird. Left/right moved the cursor up/down. Up/down moved the cursor up/down but very slowly. And the buttons moved the cursor to the right. The fix for this was to change the line
Code:
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"

to
Code:
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"

Simply commenting the Emulate3Buttons option out didn't work for me, I had to explicitly state not to use it.

Now the mouse behaves normally.

Thanks,
Brad
