I do not have a TV card. I'm testing with just a computer, nic, kbd, mouse, and monitor to determine if I like this. I ran through the R4V4.1 auto install, configuring xmltv, webmin, samba server, smbfs. They all work fine. Videos -> Video Manager When I hit 'Enter' on the keyboard while a video file is selected, nothing seems to happen. The video just will not seem to play on the computer monitor. If I hit '3', I end up back at /myth/video. |

video manager is not to play videos.. use video browser.... Video manager scans for New movies copied into your /myth/video folder and adds it into the video browsers.. |

I assigned one of the 453 movies an IMDB entry and the Video Browser shows all the rest as None, NR, 0 minutes, ?, 0 or exponential. It seems to me it should at least show the file name instead of no information at all. As for the one with the IMDB info, I can hit I for INFO then "Watch This Video" which shows the title of the file for a second and then back to the Video Browser like nothing happened. |

does this mean you have 453 movies?? well anyway if you dont do the imdb search all it will show is the Filename centered on top of the screen, as well as 0 minutes.. none for description.. etc..etc.. Are you too overscanned where you cant see the title of the movie?? it is way up towards the top of the screen?? |

Code: /usr/local/bin/mplayer -fs -zoom -quiet -vo xv %s
is the same. It's in Utilities/Setup > Setup > Media Settings > Video Settings > Player Settings > Default Player in KnoppMyth R4V5. I have IMDB working now. It doesn't search very well, and it does not allow typing in the "tt" preceeding the numbers if manually entered, but it's working now. When I select it to play the video however, it still does not do anything useful. It blinks saying it's loading it, but immediately goes back to the IMDB description. There are no errors in /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log. |

any errors would not be in the backend log, as the video plugin uses mplayer all mythtv does is call it with the string you've already verified. I would suggest running that particular string from an xterm as the mythtv user, and see if it works. (of course put the filename you want to play in place of %s) |
