ok thank you, i will get the pvr 250
, now i just need to figure out how to get my speakers to a) sound louder or b) get it to play though the tv's speakers

i am working on setting up my first Mythtv and/or Linux box. My one problem is when i start up Knoppmyth it says Knoppmyth can not find a Multimedia Graphics card...i belive this is refering to my tv capture card...i currently have a "goog-pc tv" this did come with a cd with drivers on it, but i am unsure on how to install them i also dont know what type of card it is, V4L or mpeg2 card, ect ect |

hmm you may not be able to use that card. I would bet it's a software card, but if it doesn't use one of the chipsets that linux supports you are just SOL, the drivers on the cd will be for windows and useless in linux. I would google for your card name and linux and see if you can find any info. I personally have never heard of it. |

those are both excellent cards. The difference is that the pvr350 has svideo tvout that is supposed to be about the best you can get, but it is rather difficult to setup as you will see if you do a quick search on the forums. |
